Goats à l’orange
I read somewhere that brown isn’t a real colour. The person who wrote the hit piece is probably the same type of person who tells their friends that tomato is a fruit at dinner parties. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but today I once again realised what a great colour it is and decided to look into the hearsay.
Apparently brown doesn’t have a wavelength. Which doesn’t really exclude it from the colour spectrum because neither does pink or grey or any other non-rainbow colour for that matter. What I did find interesting though is that brown is a hue (pronounced h-way) of orange. It’s also a context colour that changes its appearance based on its surroundings i.e. it appears orange against a dark background and brown against a light one. That’s why there are no brown flashlights. Colour or not, I like it a lot.
What I don’t like on the other hand is sheep. They’re incredibly dumb animals that are constantly trying to kill themselves. They’re the hamsters of the ruminant world. I remember last winter when they escaped from my neighbours field and it took five of us to herd them away from the A road.
Goats are a different breed. Cunning, loving and devious. That’s why we keep them even though they’re not that great at mowing grass. Thistle, bramble and burdock is more their cup of tea. Taking them out to their pasture every morning is a fun daily ritual that I would really miss if it ever stopped. The pear tree is slowly starting to drop some pears so taking Pam & Gusana out is becoming more entertaining. They get distracted by the pears and the whole affair becomes a bit like herding cats.
Anyway, the goats are the same light brown as our labradoodle Mosya. I tried to convince Kate to also get all 8 chickens in that apricot colour, but she wouldn’t have it. I still think it’s a missed opportunity.
See yall tomorrow bois and gurls,
Patrick
